The compilation of the scientific marvels of Holy Qur’an and Hadith; preparation of the new dawah literature in modern scientific flair; refuting and countering the doubts and concerns posed by the modern science and philosophy towards religions scientifically and compilation of modern scholastic philosophy of Islam were among the objectives of Furqania Academy which was established about 50 years ago. The literature produced by the Academy in the last fifty years is in front of the world which has now assumed the shape of a library; Its publications have been repeatedly reprinted in various parts of the world; Its researches have been published and reviewed by renowned magazines of the world; Its researchers have participated in the international seminars and conferences on the scientific marvels of Qur’an and Sunnah and presented their papers; Its publications have received worldwide acclamation. Getting benefitted from its publications is not limited to the Indian subcontinent, but it has expanded to Europe and Americas. All praise be to Allah Alone. The Academy has published more than 120 research books in this regard.

Since a long time, the necessity of a research magazine was being felt strongly. A magazine that could deal exclusively with the subject matter of religion and science and which could bring forward research articles on Islam and modern science and philosophy; which could keep an eye on the changes taking place in the world of science and philosophy and which can bring forward views of experts of Islam in this regard on one hand, and to make the achievement of the goals of the academy easier through this on the other.

Today, modern science has cracked the locks of thought and philosophy. The flood of scientific literature which is surfacing today though looks apparently contradictory to spirituality and anti-religion, but in fact it is anti-materialism and pro-religion. All it requires is we need to understand it thoroughly. One of the objectives of Tameer-e-Fikr magazine is to turn the attention of educated and knowledgeable towards this and to produce writers on these topics.

We were from day one fully aware of the fact that bringing purely a research magazine in this intellectually drought period will be next to an impossible task. Particularly, it was not an easy task in this period of prevalence of social media and our comfort loving attitude which have adversely influenced and effected serious literary and scientific research. But having faith in Almighty Allah, we moved to break this hard stone. By the grace of Almighty Allah, Tameer-e-Fikr magazine has completed five years of its existence. After God’s grace, the tireless and determined efforts of the staff of Tameer-e-Fikr are most appreciated for this success. We are also thankful to our readers and advertisers, without their cooperation we could not have stood this hard test. We look forward to their cooperation in the future too.

In this period, Tameer-e-Fikr magazine has achieved several milestones. It has explored new horizons and made researches in new fields and showed new directions to the Muslim Ummah on one hand, and on the other, it has maintained a unique standard outwardly in the Islamic journalism. A number of new periodicals came into existence in its competition, and the old magazines too upgraded to the new standards. Competition is always a valuable and appreciable thing as long as it is positive and in the right direction.

The main problem today is that there is a severe scarcity of writers and original researchers on these topics. There is a dire need to overcome this shortfall. This is the call of the hour. Therefore, we invite the learned persons to come forward and try to write on these subjects. The management of Tameer-e-Fikr will offer every kind of support to them in this regard. Furthermore, the management of Tameer-e-Fikr will also be bound to provide with reasonable financial compensation on quality articles.
