At a time when Corona virus has wreaked havoc around the world and created fear and panic among the people to such an extent that it has left people in a state of untouchability, humans have discovered a new way of contact and interconnectedness which has emerged in the form of online communication. In the days of Lockdown, this tool has emerged as a very effective and economic tool through which people from all over the world can benefit from each other on their own without putting any extra effort; they can hold education and learning classes; hold online seminars, webinars, symposiums, conferences, etc. and broadcast it on the Internet to make it useful to people around the world. Although this resource existed before, nevertheless, man has come to appreciate its true value now. In this way, the Corona pandemic has introduced us a new concept of online education that was not imagined before.

There has been a constant demand from the well-wishers of the Academy for a long time for widening the scope of benefitting from the researches of the academy and bringing these researches in the audio-visual documentaries so that it might be useful for the common man too. Ever since Coronavirus began to spread, this demand gathered momentum. Several well-wishers from Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bhatkal and Delhi proposed that either the academy itself should take initiative in making these documentaries or they should be allowed to do so. After much deliberation, the academy decided to launch its own YouTube channel.

Taking advantage of the lock down and ignoring the difficulties of this path, we started working on it. Finally, the academy’s YouTube channel by name “Furqania channel” was launched on May 18. This channel is currently available in Urdu. So far, documentaries on many topics have been published. Some of these documentaries have been provided with English subtitles. With the help of these English subtitles, these programs can be viewed in more than 110 world languages. Inshallah, the English version of this channel will also be launched in the near future.

However, this is a very laborious task that requires heavy resources as well as teamwork. We have started this work with our limited resources. For the continuation of the journey ahead, we pray to the Almighty Allah to make the way ahead easier.
