The Qur’an Park Project is a pioneering modern, cultural project that emerges from the cultural and scientific achievements of Islam. The Noble Qur’an is the living miracle revealed to humankind through our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). It is a continuous source of guidance and blessings for all of us. In it, Allah states that the bounties in the Heavens and Earth are only for the benefit of the humankind. Among them are plants, which are beneficial for humans and animals. Numerous plants are aptly illustrated in the Noble Qur’an in different ayats or verses. For example:
In order to showcase the miracles and importance of plants in the Noble Qur’an, the Dubai Municipality is currently engaged in constructing a Qur’an Park in Dubai’s Al Khawareej Area. Designed from an Islamic perspective, this Qur’an themed park spans 54 hectares and aims to highlight the achievements in the domain of plant ecology. The park also aims to extend the bridges of intellectual and cultural communication with different cultures, religions and people. It will introduce Dubai’s multicultural environment to the accomplishments of the Islamic civilization in the field of plant environment. It will also serve in preparing a scientific data of the Arab environment plants and increase performance efficiency in agricultural production and scientific research.
The upcoming Qur’an Park is set to include both the modern features and special exhibits catering to the Quranic theme. According to Hussain Nasser Lootah, director-general of Dubai Municipality, “We will be able to introduce the visitors to the types of plants, their importance and their scientific and nutritional value. The mission of the Qur’an Park is to contribute to enhancing the cultural and educational role of Islamic heritage through localization of the plants mentioned in the Noble Qur’an and Sunnah and the embodiment of Islamic heritage.”
Special Areas
The following special areas are being incorporated:
Orchards: The Park consists of 12 orchards; orchards contain the plants mentioned in the Noble Qur’an. The green spaces are divided into orchards planted with plants that have been mentioned in the Noble Qur’an and the Sunnah with the scientific and medical benefits and uses, including bananas, pomegranates, olives, melons, grapes, figs, garlic, leeks, onions, corn, lentils, wheat, cumin, ginger, tamarind, basil, squash, cucumbers and other.
Shaded Areas spread out on the sides of the walkways, where materials were used to decorate the floors with engravings of colors in keeping with the spirit of the place.
Two children’s play areas have been allocated for ages between 2 and 12 years. A dedicated area for training children in Hajj and Umrah.
The areas within the park are divided into small gardens, such as: the Islamic Garden, the Desert Garden, and the Andalusian Garden, which is characterized by the style and design common in Andalusian gardens, full of forms and designs of Islamic character.
Glass House: It contains the plants mentioned in the Noble Qur’an and Sunnah and require a controlled environment for growth.
Cave of Miracles: It contains seven miracles mentioned in the Noble Qur’an and displays exhibits with the latest technology.
Design of Solar Trees: A unique design inspired by the art of Arabic and Islamic calligraphy and designed specifically for the Quranic Park. Solar trees contain solar panels, “Wi-Fi”, the outlets for charging mobile phones, and shaded areas for visitors.
The Dubai Municipality announced that all visitors to the park will be allowed entry without any charge ‘in order to let them enjoy the beautiful views in this unique park established by the Municipality.’ The park will provide a chance to learn about many miracles mentioned in the Noble Qur’an as well as showcase plants, also mentioned in the Noble Qur’an, on which modern medicine depends. Lootah added, “The Park is considered a fantastic opportunity to explain the meanings of a lot of wonders and miracles mentioned in the Noble Qur’an in the scientific and medical fields, and the benefits of the plants mentioned in the Noble Qur’an and how modern medicine is highly dependent upon these plants for treatments as well as environmental benefits.”
The solar trees contain solar panels and Wi-Fi with electrical outlets for charging mobile phones and shaded seats for visitors.

Turkey revised its renewable energy target for 2023, with additional steps to increase the share of clean electricity production from 31 percent to more than 50 percent by 2023. In May 2018, Turkey’s Energy Watchdog head said that installed electricity capacity increased by 181 percent from 32 thousand MW over the last 15 years up to 90 thousand MW. The share of renewable electricity capacity out of total installed capacity reached 46 percent in May while renewable electricity generation was around 30 percent.
In 2013, in accordance with Turkey’s National Renewable Energy Action Plan, Turkey’s renewable electricity share was 29 percent and the share of installed clean energy capacity was around 40 percent.

Muscat: Nearly 3,000 expats embraced Islam in the first five months of this year, according to the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs. An official at the ministry told, “Since the beginning of January until today, approximately 3,000 people have converted to Islam. Many of the new converts are Europeans, followed by Indians.”
On Friday, 26 women in Oman converted to Islam at an event organised by the ministry, in which non-Muslims were given the chance to learn about the religion and clarify their doubts about certain aspects of it. During the event titled “The Quran speaks to you,” two recent converts discussed their journeys, reasons for converting to Islam, and offered advice to individuals who were considering converting. Over 800 men and women participated in the event, which also included a live prayer and Iftar, so that non-Muslims could learn more about the act. (Time of Oman)

Ankara: International trade’s dependency on the US dollar should be decreased as it became an obstacle for Turkey says Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Erdogan attended the 6th Summit of Turkic Council at Rukh Ordo Cultural Center in Kyrgyzstan.
The summit was being hosted by Kyrgyzstan’s President Sooronbay Jeenbekov. The presidents of Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan are participating in the summit, with Hungary participating as an observer state represented by its prime minister. (UNA-OIC)
